I was excited about the future plans for this town and the many opportunities that could be available for not only myself, but also for the young people that I mentor into becoming entrepreneurs. It was important for me to become an Ambassador, so I could see and hear about the amazing new and existing businesses within Harlow, to encourage the teenagers and young adults who are aspiring to start their own businesses, to stay and grow the economy of Harlow, their hometown. I have already reaped the benefits of being part of the Ambassador community through the networking opportunities and introductions which have led to collaborations and business opportunities.

Being an Ambassador for Harlow is important to me because I built my company on the needs of this community and as a result, my fitness business has seen global success. Therefore, I believe I’m responsible for contributing to the positivity surrounding the place I earn from and call home.
People who live in Harlow have gumption, they’re out and about, vocal, interested, it’s buzzing and that’s a brilliant environment for a Start-Up company – which is my main focus as an Ambassador – to support the foundations that local businesses need to succeed.

Having been in business in Harlow since 1975 and being part of the fledgling property market at that time, I have witnessed first-hand, the steady growth of our town and home ownership which encourages families to relocate to our town of opportunity.
Discover Harlow is a natural progression with the promotion for our community and being an Ambassador shows my business commitment in both respect and support of our booming town called Harlow.

I was born and bred in Harlow and loved growing up in a town of exciting opportunities to work at the forefront of technology with GSK, Nortel and Arrow amongst the major employers. I want that feeling for my daughter and the next generation and can see that the work the ambassadors do, can bring the future of work back to Harlow and home-grow its talent.

As a student of Harlow College in the mid 60’s and engrossed in Parndon Mill since 1970, pretty much all of my life has revolved around Harlow.
I’m proud of Harlow’s pioneering heritage in its built environment, industrial firsts, cultural assets and social diversity.
Harlow is a town of aspiration and opportunity with a prosperous future on the horizon.

I am incredibly passionate about changing the perception of Harlow. I moved here from London 10 years ago to bring up my family and start a business and I haven’t looked back. I am a Harlow Ambassador as I am incredibly grateful for the life I lead here and I want to share my experiences to help support business growth and drive enterprise for future generations.
