Santhosh Gowda is the Chairman of Strawberry Star Group who are working on a new residential scheme HQ (Harlow Quarter) in Harlow town centre.
These are certainly exciting times for Harlow and we are proud to be part of this new chapter for the town!
A vibrant Harlow town centre with upgraded amenities and facilities, including entertainment, new retail, cafes and bars, green spaces along with modern residential units in the heart of the town is soon set to become a reality.
Over the past few years, our property company Strawberry Star has been creating new vibrant neighbourhoods through residential schemes in London and the commuter belt towns. Now, we are set to bring the same quality of regeneration to Harlow.
We have been tasked with the redevelopment of part of the Harvey Centre from Broad Walk to West Gate and East Gate, providing connectivity through to the rest of the town. Central to this regeneration is a new residential development called HQ (Harlow Quarter), which will bring contemporary apartment living to the heart of Harlow. Alongside new homes, the development will bring other benefits to the area including employment opportunities, new retail and landscaped streets suitable for users of mobility equipment.
The approved scheme has an existing planning consent to create 523 residential apartments, including studios, 1- and 2-bedroom units, within a net floor area of over 303,000 square feet alongside 43,000 square feet of commercial space.
We will launch the scheme shortly and the redevelopment of the town centre will be rolled out in phases. The phase 1 of the scheme will be completed over the next two years providing a much-desired new look to the town centre.
As an organisation that follows industry best practices, we have incorporated the same high standards and building protocols at the Harlow scheme. In fact, the Harlow development has already been shortlisted for the First Time Buyer (FTB) magazine Readers’ Award 2020 in the ‘Best Off-Plan Development for FTBs’ category.
At Strawberry Star it is important to us that we actively contribute to the communities, and to the growth of the local economy in which we operate, and I am proud of the relationships we are forming with local organisations in Harlow. Last year we partnered with Harlow Council for the Harlow Town Centre Awards and the Active Harlow Awards, and going forward we will be working with organisations to help produce the next generation of construction workers as well as exploring ways in which we may help children achieve their ambitions through working with local sports clubs, schools and charities.
